Les minorités ethniques du Proche-Orient immigrées en Belgique : processus de (re)construction identitaire et d’acculturation en situation de double minorité [Immigrant ethnic minorities of the Near-East in Belgium: (re) construction process of identity and acculturation in situation of double minority]

[Most research in social psychology investigating immigration and ethnicminorities in Europe has not paid attention to the internal composition ofthese minority groups. As a case in point, immigration from Turkey and fromother countries in the Near East, is not only constituted by members of theMuslim majorities who reside in these countries but also features a varietyof minorities with different characteristics (e.g., various Christianminorities, Kurds and Alevis). In this project the focus will be on the numerical status (from the perspective of majority/minority) and the context of intercultural relations in the country of origin, and on how these variables influences the acculturation process, identity construction and intergroup relations after immigration.]
