Departement SeminarHow can we prime people to eat healthily?
People often feel that they should eat healthily, but they don’t always follow through on this thought. In this talk I discuss a couple of ways that we can encourage people to eat healthily. This involves: a) exposing them to obese or thin models, and b) manipulating whether they think about the future or the present. Interestingly, we find that these priming methods can have opposite effects on eating behaviour depending on: a) the body weight of the participant, and b) whether the participant is on a diet.
