Departement SeminarLet’s improve our theorizing – Our major developmental task
Under this title, I want to make it clear that the quality of science will hardly improve if we only elaborate our test statistics. The major weakness in contemporary behavioral science is theorizing and logic of science. To illustrate, I will consider what I have come to call “mediation mimicry”, along with a review of the common misuse and misunderstanding of mediation analysis in the published literature. However, this is but one of several sources of weakness in scientific inference making.

Directions to the venue:
You will find a map of Solbosch campus here: https://www.ulb.ac.be/campus/solbosch/plan-K.html
The easiest way to get there is to take a tramway (94 or 25, e.g., from Etterbeek station) or bus (71, e.g., from Central Station or Delta subway station) and stop at “Jeanne-Johanna”. You can then take the path inside the campus marked with a red “3” on the map above and you will soon see building K (see photo below) on your left.
If you come by car, be warned that parking nearby the campus is not always an easy matter but with a bit of patience you should find space in one of the streets nearby. It may be useful to bring a parking disk with you. In case you are uqsing a GPS device, setting it to 81 avenue Buyl, 1050 Brussels, will bring you closest to the most convenient entrance of the campus.
